Easily share individual videos or entire collections using the new video sharing feature, with options to embed GIFs and track video performance across email, text, social media channels, and your website.
What is Video Sharing?
The Video Sharing feature gives you the flexibility to share both individual videos and entire video collections with your customers and clients. You can generate GIF thumbnails that are perfect for embedding in emails, or shareable links for social posts or direct messages. This opens new opportunities for engaging your audience by sending your video content directly to them - wherever they are.
Where can you find Video Sharing in your Ghost Admin?
Video sharing is straightforward and available in several places within your Ghost Admin:
1. Collections Main Page
From here, you can share an entire collection of videos. This is ideal for sending a curated set of videos to clients, such as financial tips, tutorials, or updates. Just select the collection and click the Share icon to grab the shareable link, or copy the embed GIF.
2. Individual Collection Page
Similar to the Collections main page, click the Share icon to grab the shareable link or copy the GIF thumbnail to share your video collection.
3. Video Details Page
If you want to share a single, focused video, head to the Video Details page. From here, you can generate a shareable link or embed GIF to use in your communications.
Sharing Video Links
To create a link to your single video or video collection, select the Share icon and copy the link provided.
The generated links will follow a format like:
For collections: share.ghostvideo.io/c/[collection ID]
For individual videos: share.ghostvideo.io/v/[video ID]
Embedding a GIF
To generate a GIF thumbnail for your video to embed in an email, click Share > Email Embed. Select “Copy Thumbnail.” Doing so will generate your GIF.
When generating your GIF:
GIF Duration: The GIF will use 3 seconds of frames taken from the middle of the video.
Short Videos: If the video is 4 seconds or shorter, the GIF will default to the last 3 seconds of the video.
Dimensions: The GIF will be displayed at 600px x 400px, ensuring it fits perfectly into your emails and websites.
